TEKNOFEST 2025 TRNC!



TEKNOFEST 2025 took place in TRNC: Istanbul Gelişim University took its place at the festival!

Turkey’s largest aviation, space and technology festival, TEKNOFEST, brought together technology enthusiasts in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus this year. Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) also played an active role in the festival with its academic staff and students. Istanbul Gelisim University was represented by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Ozturkcan, Technology Transfer Office Manager Yahya Kemal Kiran and TTO assistant student Yusuf Enes Gultekin. The delegation examined the projects developed in 6 main and 13 sub-categories ranging from primary school to university level on site and observed that the festival, which was organized for the first time in the TRNC, was quite productive and successful in terms of the interest of the participants.


The successful team from Azerbaijan was invited to the university


A special meeting was held with the “Kızılkaya” team, which won first place by representing Azerbaijan in the field of Tourism Technologies at the festival. The team provided information about their projects; after the mutual interaction, they were invited to Istanbul GeliSim University at the TEKNOFEST event in Istanbul.


During the event, stands of other higher education institutions were also visited. In this context, ideas were exchanged with Hasan Kalyoncu University Rector Prof. Dr. Turkay Dereli and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Lutfi Yola and Aydin University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Sinag and the accompanying delegation.



IGU TTO Project Booklet was presented to Selcuk Bayraktar


During the stand visit of Selcuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TEKNOFEST, a meeting was also held with the Istanbul Gelisim University delegation. During the meeting, the project booklet containing the projects carried out by the Technology Transfer Office was presented; information was also provided about the university's work in the field of technology and innovation.


Contact was established with TUBITAK representatives

Within the scope of the festival, a meeting was held with TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydin and Vice President Prof. Dr. Mesut Guner. During the meeting, the contribution of TEKNOFEST competitions to the production of new projects in Turkey and the development of human infrastructure in this regard was mentioned.

Istanbul Gelisim University aims to transform student projects not only into academic success but also into social benefit with its approach that supports science and technology-based production. The Technology Transfer Office within the university supports entrepreneurship and innovation-focused studies and provides the necessary infrastructure for students to transform their ideas into value-added projects. In this context, the university continues to play an active role in technology events organized at national and international levels.
